Get On Up!

Saturday, April 8, 2017 -$10 admission

Get On Up! features local and regional bands sharing rhythms of funk and soul.

Spoken: Don’t Be a Jerk!

Don’t be a Jerk!

From Steve Martin to Nelson Muntz to that guy at the locker to elected officials, we’ve all known a jerk — or maybe even been one.

Sometimes doing right feels impossible, but we want to hear your story of how it was possible, how you were brave and resisted.

ALL TALES & ALL TELLERS WELCOME

Spoken is the Ohio Theatre’s continuing storytelling series. The only of its kind in Toledo, and similar to The Moth, it is an evening dedicated to sharing the experiences by both chosen and chance storytellers.

Winners at Spoken are determined by a panel of warm hearted judges and the evening features special guests and prizes — including a $25 gift certificate to The Original Sub Shop & Deli!

MORE ABOUT SPOKEN:

Spoken is the Ohio Theatre’s continuing storytelling series. The only of its kind in Toledo, and similar to The Moth, it is an evening dedicated to sharing the experiences in our city by both professional and amateur storytellers

From the epic to the mundane, the details that compose our lives have fascinating potential to move and entertain others. By sharing stories, we share our humanity and connect our human experiences to better see and understand the beauty, tragedy, and comedy that makes us who we are.

Come just to listen or bring a story of your own to share. Sign-up is at the door and audience members are called at random to tell their tales. Each event also features Special Guest Speakers with particularly striking stories to open and close the evening!
